What the Heck is a Layout Review?
Consider if a Layout Review is Right for You and Your Project
Layouts are detailed plans of a countertop design which includes the shape and placement of the countertop, as well as the location of any cutouts for sinks, cooktops or other fixtures. Material type, corner radius, and seam placement are also considered in the layout creation. A countertop slab layout review is a special add-on purchase available to clients. This service is provided for a fee to enable those who are interested in a very specific setup to preview how their stone countertop slabs will be laid out within the design.
Why is a Fee Attached?
Layout review is an add-on cost due to the additional time needed. Our programmer considers many aspects when laying out the slab, therefore, increasing requirements will require further calculations and considerations. This translates into more time spent on this element of the project.
What Happens During a Layout Review
If a countertop slab layout service is requested, a date of receipt will be agreed upon. Then, on that date, the client will receive an emailed initial slab layout of the project. The initial email/layout will show the countertops laid out in the way our experienced team believes to be best, including in the space’s appeal, and for vein matching or showcasing the best areas of the stone.
Changes to this initial plan can be made until 4 pm during the same workday the initial slab layout was emailed to the client. After this timeframe, the changes requested will be considered, alongside all other factors. It is important to note that some requested changes may require an additional slab at an additional price.
Once the slab layout is agreed upon via email, or if there is no response by 4 pm the day of the initial email, the fabricators will proceed with cutting and shaping the slab to the specified dimensions and patterning for installation per the original layout.
