Client Expectations

Important Information for TNT Clients

  • Pricing: Quoted pricing is good for 30 days. Material pricing can change due to tariffs, freight, and industry demands. Prices can only be locked in with a 75% deposit. Material is only held/ordered with a deposit.

  • Lead Time: Completion or installation dates are based on current estimated fabrication times and workload. TNT Countertops will estimate to the best of our ability when your order will be completed but may change due to industry demand. Backorder and supply discrepancies do occur. You will be notified as early as possible if any changes need to be made.

  • Slabs: For natural stone selection, we recommend viewing slabs in person and placing the exact slab(s) you want on hold with us or one of our wholesalers. This is the best way to ensure you get the color and veining you desire. Take caution to run your hands across material to feel for natural fissures and pitting to thoroughly inspect the slabs.

  • Material Disclosures: A few things to keep in mind when deciding on your material: Granite and quartzite stone needs to be sealed once a year. Marble should be every 6 months. TNT can seal your material upon installation for a fee if requested. When fabricating and installing marble, it should be noted that this material is often unpredictable in seam appearance, is more prone to staining and scratching, and is an all‐around more delicate stone. TNT does not warranty any damage that occurs to natural stone after installation. While quartz requires no additional maintenance after installation, it should be noted that it is less heat resistant than natural stone. Installation is not the end of care for your countertops. All installed material is susceptible to staining, breakage, and deterioration with lack of proper upkeep and cleaning.

  • Templating: Cabinets must be secured in the placement you want for install. Farm sinks must be installed beforehand. Faucets, clients sink, cooktops, stoves, refrigerators, pot fillers, etc. must be on site. The homeowner must be present for the entire duration of this appointment to answer any questions. Cabinets and countertops must be completely clear of items to make templating a quick and easy appointment. The measure technician requires a five‐foot diameter around the laser templator free of obstructions to avoid recalibrating the machine. If you are not prepared for the template, you will be rescheduled and charged a trip charge to return.

  •  Removal and Disposal: At a rate of $5‐15/sf depending on material, TNT Countertops will tear out and haul off the existing countertop. All personal items on/under/around need to be removed prior to tear out. WE ARE NOT RESPOSIBLE FOR THE SALVATION CONDITION OF EXISTING SINKS/FAUCETS. If any of the above needs to be saved, it needs to be removed by the client prior.

  • Mirrors: TNT does not accept responsibility for any mirrored products as we do not remove, install, or reinstall them. Mirrors installed near or around the countertops, backsplashes, side splashes, and the like must be removed by the homeowner. It is the responsibility of the homeowner to safely remove these items before the stone installation. If mirrors are not removed and break during install or tear out, TNT is not responsible.

  • Plumbing and Electrical: Reconnecting any pluming or electrical after installation will need to be done by your contractor, plumber, electrician, etc. While we can disconnect plumbing before installation begins, the process will be sped up if this is done before we arrive. If TNT does the disconnect and are not able to shut off water at the sink, the main water to the house will need to be shut off. If there are any issues, it will result in a delay in installation and an additional trip charge.

    • Plumbing reconnection needs to be scheduled the day after installation to allow the sealant used to set. TNT is not responsible for movement of sinks or stone if this waiting period is not followed.

  • Clean Up: Final wall preparation (wallpaper, painting, tile backsplash, etc.) should NOT be completed until AFTER granite/stone installation. Minor sheetrock repair may be needed after install is complete. Stone installation is considered a large construction process. Clients should expect dirt, dust, and minor debris during and after the process. TNT will wipe up after installation is completed, but please be advised this is basic cleaning and most clients follow up with a more thorough cleaning. Our installers are required to wear protective footwear during installation. Placing cardboard or other protective materials on delicate floors is recommended.

  •  Install: Our installers are trained to carry and install stone. DO NOT under any circumstances get in the way of our installers or try to offer any assistance. For the safety of our installers and homeowners, it is important that our installers are allowed the space to maneuver stone, hang sinks, set seams, drillholes, etc.

  • Leveling Countertops: If the cabinetry we are installing on top of is not level, our installers will use wooden shims to make sure the countertops are installed level. This will sometime cause a gap from the millwork that will need to be taken care of by the homeowner. Installing a trim is usually the easiest way to remedy this. TNT is not responsible for this scope of work.

  • Caulking: TNT will caulk all areas where stone meets stone during installation. It is the homeowner’s responsibility to caulk to tile backsplash, drywall, or any other surface that the stone comes up against.

  • Warranty: TNT warranties our craftsmanship for 1 year from the date of install. This does not include staining, chipping, or any damage to the material after installation. Each quartz manufacturer has their own warranty which can be provided upon request. Natural stone provides no warranty.

  • Remaining balance: Remaining balance is due at the time of installation.
